After a delightful sleep in until 9:30 am the students were awaken, fed and off on the Jubilee Line to Westminster were we changed to the Circle line for Tower Hill. Another beautiful weather day as we toured the Tower of London including the Crown Jewels, the Ravens, the Yeomen Warders (Beefeaters), White Tower, the Bloody tower, etc. etc.

At Oliver's suggestion we then boarded the Thames City Cruise boats and had a narrated ride back to Westminster pier. We got off adjacent to the London Eye (been there done that!), glanced up at the Elizabeth Tower (renamed 2012) where Big Ben the great bell of the clock resides. And then headed over to Westminster Abbey.

After a self guided tour of the Abbey, an ice cream break lying in the sun in St. James Park was just what was needed so we could finish up by visiting Churchill's War Rooms. We had a fascinating tour of the original Cabinet War Rooms, the wartime bunker that sheltered Churchill and his government during the blitz in WWII.

Tired from the many miles and many sites we headed home with a quick stop in the local Sainsbury's for replenishment and supplies. Nothing like some oven cooked pizza with a World Cup game playing on the TV!
